Course Structure: 2 years (4 semesters), Regular

Eligibility: Any bachelor degree with 50% aggregate marks

 

Keeping the growth of entertainment and gaming industry in India and abroad in view Bangalore University is introducing two new courses MSc in Graphics and Animation, Film Making from academic year 2019-20 along with MSc Electronic media which stated in 2002.

​

The courses intend to train students in

Electronic Media: Television production and Planning, Cinematography, Sound and Lighting, Video editing, Radio Program Production, Visual Communication, Presentation techniques for Radio and TV, Web Journalism Etc.

​

Graphics and Animation: 2D and 3D animation, Animated Movie making, Character TD, Compositing and AV editing, 3D simulation and VFX, 3D modelling, Graphic designing, UI and UX designing Etc.

 

Film Making: Cinematography, Film appreciation, Direction, Editing, Scripting, Story boarding, Sound production, Graphics and Animation, Film Financing, Distribution and Marketing, Film Production Etc.

 

Facilities: The is coming up with State of the art studio and it has Advanced Cinematographic equipment such as HD cameras, Drone, 5D camera and other necessary accessories. Editing suit with FCP, monitors wall, video switchers, Sound production facility with protocol, ENG mics, advanced outdoor sound recorders. Computer lab with necessary designing and multimedia enabled software, Wi-Fi, Dept. Library with more than 800 books national, international and regional magazines and newspapers. Dept. has CCTV vigilance.

 

Teaching: Smart class rooms with projectors, Apple TV. Dept. regularly conducts interaction with professionals from industry, Dept. facilitate students to visit to media organizations and participate in television and radio programmes. Dept. encourages students to involve community extension activities, Practical training by assigning students to cover and handle various events. News bulletin, Short film, Documentary, Radio, Animated movies production, Ad film making are part of the curriculum.

Job Opportunities: Carrier options are plenty and varied across entertainment media. Dept. alumnus are employed in national and regional news channels, production houses, ad agencies, PR firms, web media, radio stations, serial production, film production, graphic designing, teaching and research.
